Archive of RSL Queensland magazines now online

By Robyn Hamilton, Collection Building and Interpretation, State Library of Queensland | 14 April 2025

In 2025, RSL Queensland is celebrating 100 years of its magazine, which began as The Queensland Digger (1925-1962), changed its name to Vigilance (1962-1967), then again to its current title Queensland RSL News (1989-present).

State Library has recently undertaken an extensive digitisation project to digitise all three titles up to 2012, and they can be found here:

The magazine represents a century of history for Queensland's veteran community, and contains countless contributions from veterans recounting their wartime and peacetime experiences. Since 1925 the magazine has connected veterans to information and services, and most importantly, to each other. Thanks to RSL Queensland for enabling us to digitise the collection and share 100 years of Queensland stories with the world.
