State Library spaces and services will gradually reopen over the coming weeks, with an emphasis on your health and safety.

Following the Queensland Government's roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions, you can now book a study space (for single person use only) at The Edge, availability starting from Monday 22 June.

Spaces are bookable in three hour blocks from 10am - 1pm and from 2pm - 5pm, 7 days per week.

Please note: you must be a State Library member to book spaces. You can join here.

Conditions of entry:

  • Do not enter the The Edge if you are unwell
  • Use the hand sanitiser provided as you enter
  • You must confirm your contact details on entry*
  • Keep 1.5 metres away from others
  • Booking spaces limited to individuals only

*As a condition of entry to State Library, visitors must provide name, address and mobile number; and consent to this information being forwarded to Queensland Health to enable Covid-19 contact tracing procedures.

Reasearch desks in the Heritage collection JOL area

You can now access State Library Heritage Collections in the John Oxley Library on Level 4.  You can book a desk (for single person use only) starting from Monday 13 July.

Spaces are bookable in three-hour blocks from 10am - 1pm and from 2pm - 5pm, 7 days per week.

Steps

  1. Book a space first. 
  2. After you have booked a space, request the collections you require through the Library catalogue One Search. Do this before your visit.

  • This area is intended for access to Heritage Collections. You may not bring food and drink, bags or pens.  This is to protect valuable collections.

Study Desks at JOL - quiet area

Following the Queensland Government's roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions, you can now book a study desk (for single person use only) on Level 4 of State Library, availability starting from Monday 13 July.

PLEASE NOTE: Heritage Collections are not available in this area. To access collections, please book a space in the Heritage Collections Access area
