Digital Media Computers

Access a suite of workstations at The Edge with a range of professional and free creative software.

Get creative with full access to industry standard software for design, 3D modelling, web and app development and image, audio and video editing, as well as a range of audio and design equipment.

The Edge hosts 16 computers with dedicated creative software along with 2 higher spec production computers (a PC and iMac).

DIGITAL MEDIA COMPUTERS

Computer Lab

The Digital Media Lab provides access to 10 computers with creative and industry-standard software for design, 3D modelling, web and app development, image, audio, and video editing, as well as a range of audio and design equipment. A complete list of software is available below. 

Computer Zone

Located in The Edge River Lounge, The Computer Zone provides access to 6 of the same industry-standard software available in the Digital Media Lab. This resource is accessible during The Edge's opening hours and also serves as an alternative when the Digital Media Lab is hosting workshops.

Headphones

Wired headphones and bluetooth noise cancelling headphones are available for use in the DML and Computer Zone, please ask at the Reception desk for more information and to check availability.

Drawing Tablets

There are three Wacom Bamboo tablets available for use, ask The Edge Reception.

PRODUCTION COMPUTERS

PC Production Workstation

The PC Production Workstation in The Edge Digital Media Lab at State Library is a high-end platform suitable for heavy-duty rendering and GPU-intensive work. To book and use the PC Production Workstation, you’ll first need to:

Apple Production Workstation

The Edge’s updated Apple Production Workstation is a specialist computer to provide users with continued access to the Mac-only capabilities that were available in the previous iterations of the Digital Media Lab.

To book and use the Apple Production Workstation, you’ll first need to:

  • Become a State Library member and 
  • Complete an Apple Workstation User Registration. Registrations will be processed within 4 business days. After which, approved applicants will be given access to a booking page.
