Why a Melbourne Millennial decided to launch a telco for Gen Y

When Kew resident Todd Scott met up with his friends for Easter in 2016, he had no idea a chat over dinner and drinks would spark a two-year journey to launch a telecommunications company aimed at Millennials.
One of his friends was complaining about poor reception with his budget-priced phone provider and another chimed in with his own story about a 30-minute wait on hold, only to be transferred to an offshore operator who didn’t know how to fix his problem.
As it turned out, all of his friends had a gripe about their current telco not suiting their needs as young Australians.
“None of my friends were really happy with their network provider, whether it was customer service, or connectivity or speeds. The telco industry has definitely neglected Millennials,” he said.
Mr Scott has always considered himself an entrepreneur and it was this conversation with his mates that made him realise there was an opportunity to launch a start-up to solve their mobile plan problems. Read more
