Digital and You workshop, South West Queensland, August 2025

This November and December, regional South West Queensland is turning up the digital dial! From Surat to Eromanga an exciting mix of free digital workshops is rolling into town.

Whether you’re a creative soul, small business owner, curious learner, or just on the hunt for that extra-special Christmas gift, there’s something for you.

Delivered by State Library of Queensland’s Regional Digital Development project, these fun, hands-on workshops are popping up in all the familiar places — your local library and community centres.

Mitch Greig, State Library’s Regional Digital Development Officer for South West Queensland, says the workshops are about helping people build confidence and skills in a way that feels local, relevant, and welcoming.

‘In rural and remote areas, digital skills can be life-changing — from managing your health and wellbeing to finding things you just can’t get locally,’ Mitch said.

‘Many people who think they’re not ‘techy’ are already incredibly creative and hands-on.

‘These workshops connect that creativity with digital tools to build confidence and show how technology can genuinely improve everyday life.’
