Oxley fieldwork student

The latest fieldwork student to be placed with Heritage Collections is Linda Macfarlane. Linda is studying towards a Masters degree in Information Studies at Charles Sturt University.Linda is usually based in Canberra where she works at the Australian Prime Ministers Centre within the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House. Linda says the Centre is quite similar to the John Oxley Library in that it collects published material, as well as original manuscript material and ephemera.

The Centre’s collection relates to the history, origins and traditions of Australian democracy, with a particular focus on Australian prime ministers.The Centre also supports research into this field of study through annual Fellowships and Summer Scholarships. Linda will be spending a total of 3 weeks at the State Library of Queensland including one week with Reference Services, one week with Heritage Collections and one week with Resource Discovery.
