New Queensland history research guides

Have you ever wondered how deep the Queensland research rabbit hole goes?

State Library have launched six new research guides to assist the Queensland history research community to easily connect with and use our resources.

Our six new research guides cover the following topics:

  • Queensland architecture
    Explore a variety of resources related to our built heritage with the collections of noted and lesser-known Queensland architects. 
     
  • Queensland railways
    Get on track with thousands of digitised photographs as well as other collections documenting the rise of Queensland's railways.
     
  • LGBTIQ+ community
    Access resources identifying the diversity of LGBTIQ+ communities in Queensland.
     
  • Environment and sustainability
    Discover collections, resources and content that highlight the diversity of Queensland's natural environment and how we live with, manage and protect it.
     
  • Australian South Sea Islanders
    Australian South Sea Islanders have a compelling heritage etched in the landscapes of Queensland. Discover a vast array of collections and resources providing an insight into their history and contribution.
     
  • Tourism in Queensland
    We invite you to explore selected resources, collections, and research uncovering fascinating stories and facts linking to Queensland's iconic tourism status.
