More vintage Queensland newspapers on Trove (2025)

By Myles Sinnamon | 14 November 2025

The image is a collage-style graphic made up of vintage Queensland newspaper mastheads arranged in overlapping layers.

Old newspapers are fantastic resources for local history researchers and family historians, whether you're following social events and concerts held in town or hunting for the obituary of a long-lost ancestor.

In times gone by, searching for these nuggets would require painstaking scanning through the original newspaper or trawling through reel after reel of microfilm.

In 2009, the National Library of Australia's Trove platform revolutionised this process, making numerous old Australian newspaper accessible and searchable with the push of a few buttons.

In 2025, the collection of Queensland newspapers on Trove has continued to grow with the following newspapers now available online.

Allora

The digitisation of these titles was done in partnership with National Library of Australia and State Library of Queensland.
