I've Been Working on the Railways, continues to travel around the country...

The travelling exhibition I’ve Been Working on the Railways has continued to tour around Australia and has been well received so far in Townsville and in Canberra, where it is currently on display at the National Archives.

In Townsville, I had the pleasure of attending the opening and it was wonderful to see all the community members there, and meet some of the people who contributed their stories to the exhibition. It was particularly great to hear people recognise friends and workmates and we hope we can continue to capture the names of the people who feature inwell over 100 photographs in the exhibition. We are also keen to keep collecting stories about Australian South Sea Islander's experiences on the railways, so if you have a story to tell please get in touch with me at The Workshops Rail Museum.

The exhibition will continue on the road for the next two years, with its display at the National Archives continuing until 18 May 2014. From there the exhibition will move to Newcastle where it will be on show from June – September at the Newcastle Museum. The exhibition will then make its way across the Nullarbor to Perth to the Bassendean Railway Museum where it will run from September 2014 to February 2015.
