By Queensland Memory, State Library of Queensland | 28 March 2025
Can you assist us with collecting electoral ephemera from the 2025 Australian federal election, especially from electorates outside of Brisbane?

A sample of federal election ephemera from State Library of Queensland's collection
State Library of Queensland has a significant and historical collection of ephemera. This material, which is generally regarded by most of us as “throw away” items, provides a unique perspective into Queensland’s social life, popular culture and political viewpoints.
Political ephemera is an area of particular interest. Did you know our oldest piece of election ephemera was printed in 1871?
We collect across the whole of Queensland's political spectrum; just as democracy is a key aspect of Australia's political landscape, we seek to reflect and strengthen this by collecting a comprehensive record of our political history.
With the 2025 federal election now set for 3 May, we are very keen to receive items produced by the political parties and candidates such as:
- How to vote cards
- Posters
- Flyers
- Stickers
- T-shirts
- Magnets
- Badges
If you’d like to make a contribution to Queensland’s electoral history, your ephemera items can be sent to:
