Grand Designs Australia

By JOL Admin | 15 July 2010

Media crews can often be seen in the John Oxley Library Reading Room filming  stories that have their basis in Queensland history. The Oxley's photographs, newspapers, manuscripts, books, maps, films and assorted collection items provide marvellous windows into that multifaceted history for use in film and TV documentaries.

Freemantle Media crew film house owner Jan Gilliam speaking with the Oxley’s Karen Hind about A C Gregory related collection items.

On Wednesday 14 July Freemantle Media filmed part of an episode for the television program Grand Designs Australia in the JOL Reading Room. This episode concerns the restoration by the current owners of the explorer A C Gregory's house at Southport on the Gold Coast.

Grand Designs Australia will be hosted by leading Australian architect Peter Maddison. The ten part series will be aired this year on Foxtel's The Lifestyle Channel.
