The Go-Betweens: Right Here documentary features SLQ images

The 2017 documentary, The Go-Betweens: Right Here by director Kriv Stenders, delves into the history of the beloved indie group. The Go-Betweens were formed in Brisbane by Robert Forster and Grant McLennan in 1977.

The documentary uses several images from the State Library of Queensland's Paul O'Brien collection to illustrate the Brisbane music and political scenes of the late 1970s. This includes a photograph of one of the Go-Betweens's first concerts at Baroona Hall in 1978 as well as images of Lindy Morrison who became the band's drummer in 1980.

The Paul O’Brien collection contains 880 photographic negatives of bands and fans in the Brisbane music scene from the late 1970s to early 1980s. These images have been digitised and can be browsed online through our One Search catalogue.
