/ Gratitude: Showing gratitude to others and being grateful for what you have is shown to improve your physical and mental health, according to a search of Gale Health and Wellness. Try keeping a gratitude journal or write a gratitude list to practise this tip on a regular basis.
/ Exercise: Exercise is a well-known mood booster. It can help to relieve anxiety, anger, depression and stress. Academic journals in Gale Health and Wellness recommend yoga, walking, cycling and aerobic exercise.
/ Mindfulness: Being ‘in the moment’ is a proven way to reduce anxiety and tolerate uncomfortable feelings. Gale Health and Wellness has magazine articles and academic journals that demonstrate the benefits of mindfulness to mental health.
/ Nutrition: Want to know about good mood food? In Gale Health and Wellness you can find articles on how foods like cauliflower, carrots and watermelon help you to maintain physical and mental health.
/ Social media: Social media is often seen as the enemy of mental health but studies in Gale Health and Wellness have shown that moderate use of social media like Facebook and Skype can help to decrease depression and combat the effects of loneliness for some people.
