Enjoy Animalia (Library Edition) now at your library

State Library of Queensland now provides free access to Animalia (Library Edition), an exciting and engaging online version of the classic picture book by Graeme Base.  The digital interactive resource focuses on language and literacy learning for children. Join your local Queensland public library, Indigenous Knowledge Centre or State Library of Queensland to start enjoying today.

More than the classic picture book

The digital version has every illustration of the book is brought to life in beautiful zoomable detail. Children still meet Diabolical Dragons, Armoured Armadillo and Crafty Crimson Cats of the published book but with even more ways to engage with the fantastic words and characters they love.

Activities, games and more

Animalia (Library Edition) includes Read Animalia and The ABC of Flying. There are also 19 activities including Alphabetical Order, Amazing Alliteration, Compare and Contrast, and Vexing Vocabulary.

Children work through a range of levels as they gain expertise. Memory games, quizzes, fun facts, things to find and other great challenges keep kids coming back for more.
