This real estate map from 1888 advertises 75 allotments of land for sale at the Eagle Farm and Sandgate Junction Township Estate, now part of the Brisbane northside suburb of Clayfield. The allotments were situated along Alma Road and three unnamed roads (now Stuckey Road, Junction Road and Sandgate Road).
Advertisement for the Eagle Farm and Sandgate Junction Township Estate, . Published in The Telegraph, 25 June 1888, p.7"Specially suitable for gentlemen's residences, as the soil is peculiarly adapted for gardens...Shrubs, flowers, fruits, and vegetables grow luxuriantly in this neighbourhood. Another strong point is the easy access to the city, and the slight cost of a season railway ticket is never felt". (The Telegraph, 25 June 1888, p.7)
A public auction was held at the site on the afternoon of 30 June 1888. The results of the auction were published in The Telegraph newspaper.
"Mr G.T. Bell reports a successful sale of property on Saturday last, in the Eagle Farm and Sandgate Junction Township Estate, 35 allotments being sold for a total of £1,223, averaging £35 each..." (The Telegraph, 2 July 1888, p.4)
