Byte-size business skills: free ‘Munch and Learn’ digital workshops in Kuranda and Mareeba
By Melissa Reynolds | 3 June 2025

Free Digital and You workshop delivered by State Library of Queensland and Mareeba Regional Shire Council during Queensland Small Business Month in May
Whether you're running a business from home or juggling multiple hats, the new ‘Munch and Learn’ digital workshop series offers a chance to step away from your desk, make connections, and gain skills that can make a real difference to your business.
Held monthly in Kuranda and Mareeba, these free, two-hour sessions are designed to spark ideas, build confidence with digital tools, and help your business grow. With a cuppa in hand and something tasty to nibble on, it’s learning that fits your business life—and fuels your next move.
Following the success of the Digital and You workshops delivered during Queensland Small Business Month, this series continues to offer hands-on learning to help small businesses build digital capability and explore new ways to grow.
Ricky Clark, State Library of Queensland’s Regional Digital Development Officer for Far North Queensland, says the series—delivered in partnership with Mareeba Shire Council—is about strengthening digital know-how and local business networks.
“The enthusiasm we saw during the May sessions was inspiring; people came ready to learn, share, and take action,” he said.
“Small businesses in our region have endured a lot—COVID-19, supply chain disruptions, and extreme weather events have all taken a toll. But we’ve also seen incredible innovation and adaptability.”
“These workshops are about giving people the tools to grow their business or bring a new idea to life. Whether it’s turning a side hustle into something bigger or building on what’s already working, the opportunities that digital skills offer are real and within reach.”
