This real estate map from 1884 advertises 209 allotments of land for sale at the Broadmere Estate in the Brisbane suburb of Annerley. The allotments were situated along Clara Street, Frederick Street, Mary Street (now Broadmere Street), Francis Street (now Tamworth Street), George Street (now Sommervell Street) and three unnamed roads (now Venner Road, Swansea Street and Kintore Street).

Prior to the sale extensive publicity was published in Brisbane newspapers.
"The Broadmere Estate is situated off the main Ipswich Road, a few yards beyond the Junction Hotel, within about 100 yards of the Boggo railway station, close to the River View Estate, where land changed hands lately at fabulous prices." (Brisbane Courier, 11 October 1884, p.7)

The auction took place on the afternoon of 25 October 1884. The results of the sale were published in The Telegraph newspaper.
"Messrs Arthur Martin and Co. report the sale of 139 allotments in the Broadmere Estate, for a total of £1,039 5s. The assembly was large and the bidding spirited. The balance will be for private sale." (The Telegraph, 27 October 1884, p.4)
