By JOL Admin | 2 April 2018
State Library of Queensland has an extensive collection of historical maps of Queensland, some of which have been digitised and can be viewed online.

This real estate map from 1923 advertises 120 allotments of land for sale at the Breezy Slopes Estate in the Brisbane suburb of Cannon Hill. The allotments were situated along Keats Street, Shelley Street and New Cleveland Road (now Wynnum Road).
Prior to the sale extensive publicity was published in Brisbane newspapers.
"Situated on splendid elevation, commanding extensive views, facing the main Cleveland Road, open to all cool easterly breezes and within three minutes' walk of Cannon Hill Station." (Telegraph, April 2, 1923)

A public auction was held at the site on the afternoon of November 24, 1923. The Brisbane Courier newspaper reported the results of the sale –
"Cameron Bros. report a successful sale at Breezy Slopes Estate, where 44 allotments were disposed of for a total of £838. The highest price per allotment was £33 . The auctioneers will hold another sale on the ground on Saturday. (Brisbane Courier, April 9, 1923)
