Australia Day 2011 - Government House

By JOL Admin | 27 January 2011

On the 26 January the State Library of Queensland participated in Government House's Australia Day Open Day with a display in the beautiful Investiture Room.

Other organisations taking part on the day included the Queensland Women's Historical Association, the Royal Historical Society of Queensland, the Order of Australia Association, Queensland Branch, the Queensland State Archives, the Veteran Car Club, and the Queensland Mounted Infantry Historical Troop.

The perfect weather and surroundings made for a wonderful Australia Day event with visitors encouraged to contribute a "gold coin" to the Premier's Flood Appeal.

Thanks to Her Excellency Ms Penelope Wenslay AC, Governor of Queensland for her hospitality and Government House's Scott Allen for organizing this successful day.
