State Library of Queensland has an extensive collection of historical maps of Queensland, some of which have been digitised and can be viewed online.

This real estate map from 1911 advertises over 50 allotments of land for sale at the Adams Estate in the Brisbane suburb of Newmarket. The allotments were situated along South Street, Alderson Street, Wilston Road, Farm Street and two unnamed roads (now called Murell Street and Mina Parade).

Prior to the sale extensive publicity was published in Brisbane newspapers.

"right alongside the Newmarket Railway Station, where the pretty gum trees are...A nice, healthy elevated position, with pretty surroundings" (Brisbane Courier, March 18, 1911).

A public auction was held at the site on the afternoon of March 18, 1911. The Brisbane Courier newspaper reported the results of the sale.

"Messrs. Isle, Love and Co. report a successful sale on Saturday afternoon of the Adams Estate, Newmarket. The whole of the land offered, comprising 53 choice building site, was disposed of for a total of £840, the individual prices ranging from £7/10s to £28 .” (Brisbane Courier, March 20, 1911)
