This real estate map from 1886 advertises 40 unsold allotments of land for sale at the Milton Estate, located in the Brisbane inner-city suburb of the same name. The allotments were situated along Railway Terrace, Manning Street, Walsh Street and Crombie Street.

Prior to the sale extensive publicity was published in Brisbane newspapers.

"To merchants, squatters, trustees, private gentlemen, government officials, drapers, storekeepers, speculators, and all classes of the community wanting to purchase first-class allotments for the erection of private residences or for safe investment...The unsold allotments in the Milton Estate, which has for years been recognised and admitted on all hands as being unexceptionally the most valuable suburban  property in the vicinity of the city". (Brisbane Telegraph, 2 April 1886, p.8).

"John Cameron reports a successful sale at the Milton Estate on Saturday. The whole of the lots (40) were disposed of in about an hour for the sum of £2,273, being an average of £57 each." (Brisbane Courier, 12 April 1886, p.4).
