Night by the fire 2025 celebrates this years NAIDOC theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy by inviting extraordinary guest speakers to share their stories.
Guyala Bayles is a 25-year-old Birri Gubba and Wonnarua model and actress, signed to Chic Management. Born in Magandjin (Brisbane) but later raised on Gadigal (Sydney) and Dhungatti (Kempsey) country, she transforms her challenging experiences and uses the knowledge passed down by her elders to powerfully advocate for First Nations issues and human rights. As a poet and multidisciplinary artist Guyala inspires others to embrace their identity and pursue their goals and dreams no matter how big! Be captivated by Guyala’s presence to share her story and passions in hopes that it empowers and unifies people from all different walks of life.
Join us from 5.30 pm and enjoy freshly made damper and the heat of the camp fire. Come along to listen, learn and share.
Where: Talking Circle, kuril dhagun, level 1, State Library of Queensland, Stanley Place, South Brisbane
