NAIDOC Week Cinema – Film screening of Wash My Soul in the River's Flow

Join us for a special NAIDOC Week screening at State Library

Wash My Soul In The River’s Flow is a cinematic reinvention of a legendary concert that goes behind the scenes, and onto the stage to discover the story of Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter told in song.

The film covers the conceptualization, rehearsals and performance of the 2004 concert Kura Tungar, and is an autobiographical account of shared lives, covering the Stolen Generation, rootlessness, return to Country and the path to reconciliation through song and spoken word. Stirring and uplifting, it’s a documentary that uplifts the soul without shying away from the occasional darkness of the trail that leads to higher ground.
