Culture Love curator's tour

Join us for a guided curator’s tour of this vibrant showcase; Culture Love in kuril dhagun. A celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, this showcase features photographs, video, and sound capturing stories of creativity, culture and connection across generations.

About the showcase:

Culture Love is a celebration of children and young people. It began as a thriving school holiday program engaging youth, Elders, artists, and musicians, delivered through Indigenous Knowledge Centres located in regional Queensland communities from 2009 to 2013.

Today, Culture Love is a legacy of photographs, videos, and sound recordings that can be accessed and enjoyed in State Library of Queensland’s collection. This showcase features a selection of Culture Love in recognition of the NAIDOC Week 2025 theme of ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy’.

From customs and traditional stories to new adventures and artistic play, Culture Love engaged the minds and talents of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. It reminds us of their role in community as cultural ambassadors across generations.
