'Collection Curiosities' workshop for schools (Year 4 to 9)
Spark your students’ curiosity and love for libraries in this engaging and interactive Collection Curiosities workshop.
In a fun ‘show and tell’ format, students will uncover the fascinating stories behind some of State Library’s rarest, quirkiest, and most treasured artefacts, each with a special connection to Queensland.
Highlights for Term 3, 2025 include stories of UFOs and aliens visiting our state, a puppet of our most controversial Premier, an ill-conceived pink prison uniform, the smallest book in the world, a 4000-year-old Ancient tablet and a selection of wacky and wonderful inventions designed by curious Queenslanders.
Workshop notes:
- Each workshop will feature a unique selection of collection items appropriate for the year level of the students attending.
- This free 40 minute workshop is open to all schools and will be live-streamed via Microsoft Teams.
