Get creative with full access to industry standard software for design, 3D modelling, web and app development and image, audio and video editing, as well as a range of audio and design equipment.

The Edge hosts 16 computers with dedicated creative software along with 2 higher spec production computers (a PC and iMac).

DIGITAL MEDIA COMPUTERS

Computer Lab

The Digital Media Lab provides access to 10 computers with creative and industry-standard software for design, 3D modelling, web and app development, image, audio, and video editing, as well as a range of audio and design equipment. Booking and a complete list of software is available below.

Computer Zone

Located in The Edge River Lounge, The Computer Zone provides access to 6 of the same industry-standard software available in the Digital Media Lab. This resource is accessible during The Edge's opening hours and also serves as an alternative when the Digital Media Lab is hosting workshops.

Production Computers

The Edge hosts two specialist production computers, one PC and one iMac. The PC Production Workstation is a high-end platform suitable for heavy-duty rendering and GPU-intensive work and the Apple Production Workstation is a specialist computer to provide users with access to Mac-only capabilities.

You will need to register your interest to use these computers by;

Becoming a State Library member and
Complete a Production Workstation User Registration. Registrations will be processed within 4 business days. After which, approved applicants will be given access to be able to book.

OTHER EQUIPMENT

Headphones

Wired headphones and bluetooth noise cancelling headphones are available for use in the DML and Computer Zone.

Drawing Tablets

There are three Wacom Bamboo tablets available for use, ask The Edge Reception.

Booking Times

Bookings are for a minimum 1-hour duration, up to a max of 4-hours per day.
Bookings may be cancelled if you do not arrive within the first 15 minutes of your booking.
PCs must be vacated 10 minutes prior to closing.
