Arthur Palmer Presentation Spade and Wheelbarrow

The presentation nickel silver spade and timber wheelbarrow were presented to Arthur Palmer, former Queensland Premier at a ceremony held to mark the turning of the first sod of the Sandgate Railway in 1881. The spade is engraved in large script on the front and is attached to a timber shaft which has a plain T shaped nickel handle. The model wheelbarrow is constructed from red cedar.
