  • Holiday fun

These school holidays, come to the State Library of Queensland to explore sustainability with a twist!

Enjoy hands-on activities for all ages, including Make it, change it, save it, presented by State Library of Queensland and developed in collaboration with Reverse Garbage Queensland to create playful worlds using repurposed objects. Visit kuril dhagun and experience the vibrant world of Deaf in dance showcase and create your own portrait. Plus, enjoy our Scavenger hunt and cozy Reading room for the perfect blend of exploration and relaxation.

Join us from Wednesday 8 January for an exciting series of immersive workshops. Celebrate First Nations culture in our free Cultural Collaborations sessions, where we explore new creative mediums each day. Let your nose become your paint brush at our inclusive disability-led Sniffing colours activity and pull apart old electronics to make beautiful sculptures at our Transforming e-waste workshops. Be sure to visit e-Galaxy, a free interactive public art experience that will inspire you to think about the impact of technology on the natural world.

Mark your calendars and follow Holiday fun on Facebook so you don't miss out. Be sure to book tickets for Sniffing colours and Transforming e-waste workshops to secure your place.

Receive 10% off all in-store purchases at the Library Shop and Cafe during the Holiday fun period (13 December – 27 January). Simply mention ‘holiday fun’ at the checkout.

Please note: The State Library of Queensland will be closed on 25 and 26 December but open all other days across the festive season.
