Use our FAQs to learn how to search for free digital skills workshops and online resources and to manage your bookings using the State Library of Queensland Digital and You app.
What is the Digital and You app?
Our free app is part of the State Library of Queensland's Digital Inclusion Program which aims to help Queenslanders build the skills to confidently to use digital technologies.
The app enables you to securely search and register for free digital workshops delivered by participating public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres (IKCs) in Queensland, and self-paced resources available online. You can also manage your bookings and keep a handy record of your achievements.

Is the app free?
Yes, the Digital and You app is free of charge to download and use. The app searches for free digital skills workshops and there are no in-app purchases.
Who can use the app?
To use the app, you must be a resident of Queensland and 16 years and over.
What are the requirements to use the app?
The Digital and You app is designed for mobile phones and tablets using Android 6 or iOS 13.4 or later.
What personal information does the app use?
When you use the app, we collect the following personal data:

Full name

Email address

Region/city/town (location-based data)

Information regarding events you've registered for and participated in

Your notification settings, which may include reminders for registered events and alerts for upcoming events near your location
Your privacy is important to us, and we only use your personal information to:

Provide and improve our services to you, including registration and participation in events.

Send you reminders and notifications based on your settings to keep you informed about events you have registered for or might be interested in.

Administer and manage our platform's user interface for enhanced experience.

How long does it take to receive a certificate?
Completion certificates are usually available 24 to 48 hours after the end of the workshop you have been marked as attending. If the certificate is not available after this time, contact your IKC or public library.
Why are no events listed for my region?
The app is being rolled out to IKCs and public libraries in Queensland over several months so your local library may not be using the service yet. In the meantime, check out a self-paced digital course at digitalandyou.com.au/skills or email Digital Inclusion digitalinclusion@slq.qld.gov.au to find the nearest participating location.
How do I change my profile information?
Go to the ‘You’ tab in the app and select ‘update account settings’.
How can I delete my account?
You can delete your account and associated data from within the Digital and You app by clicking the ‘You’ tab, selecting ‘Delete Account’ and confirming your request.
Alternatively, you can request the deletion of your account and associated data from the Digital and You app by emailing digitalinclusion@slq.qld.gov.au from your associated email account with the subject line: Account Deletion Request - Digital and You App. It may take up to 10 business days to process your request.
Upon processing your request, the following actions will be taken:
- All personal data associated with your account will be permanently removed
- Any certificates achieved during your account's active period will be deleted
- Your workshop attendance records will be retained but permanently de-identified.
Please note: Once your account is deleted, this action cannot be undone, and you will lose access to all your associated data and achievements.
