The Directory of Queensland Public Libraries provides information about all Queensland library services and branches – it’s a vital resource for all of us.

Is your library information accurate?

It’s also a popular destination for patrons looking for details of their nearest public library and the services they provide. Did you know that SLQ also releases the directory data as an open data (CSV file) on the Australian and Queensland Open Data portal? This dataset is one of the most popular resources available in the portal. It’s used by the My Community Directory, which is designed to help Queensland families to get to the right service at the right time.

It’s also a very useful resource for library staff; you can search the directory by location, geographical region, type of library or key word search. Each library's details page provides information about its opening hours, address, phone number, branch administrators and a link to the library web page and online catalogue. It also includes contact details for main library service staff.

To ensure all users have access to the most up-to-date information, please review and ensure your information is accurate. Here’s how:

You’ll find the Directory under the ‘Networking’ heading on the Public Libraries Connect website.

These instructions explain how to access and update your library services content including how to enter your geolocation information to ensure your library displays correctly on Google Maps.

Each library service has been provided with a document containing a unique URL, username and password. This means you can only access and make changes to your own library services records within the directory. If you are uncertain of your username or password please submit the ‘Lost your username or password’ form available on our website.
