World Environment Day and SLQ’s Even Greener team

By administrator | 4 June 2015

5 June is World Environment Day, the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the environment. This year’s theme is: Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care. State Library of Queensland is committed to remaining a sustainable place to work and visit. Since 2009, SLQ’s Even Greener team has championed ideas for action and promoted environmental awareness at our South Bank, Cannon Hill and Cairns locations. Our main goals are to:

  • reduce energy consumption
  • improve recycling levels and reduce general waste
  • engage and educate staff
  • consider and implement green initiatives
