'We've grown 900pc': Coffee cup inventor Frank Green looks to USA

Frank Green founder Benjamin Young has spent 2018 designing a 'sippy cup' as he prepares to launch in the US.
"We've just come out with a new sippy lid - everyone in America walks around with a cup with a straw in it for their filter coffees that they have," Young says.
The coffee cup inventor says his team is finally in a position to set up shop in America, having spent significant resources developing a brand new product line including stainless steel reusable coffee cups in order to make a formal move into the US market.
"Americans don’t want plastic and they don’t want glass. They don’t want plastic because of BPA… then they don’t want glass because of the litigious nature of it - and glass does break, glass doesn’t keep the heat in," Young says.
Frank Green was born in 2014 after Young left his career in corporate waste management, having seen "the economics of recycling just don't work".
But he does believe the brand's "philosophy and way of life" around reducing single use items will resonate with US coffee drinkers. Read more
