Some of the brightest minds in international and Australian architecture will deliver free public talks as part of the 2018 UQ Architecture lecture series at State Library of Queensland (SLQ).

The impacts of urbanisation on communities and the environment, as well as the opportunities and challenges of repurposing existing structures, are some of the themes to be explored under the umbrella of ‘in-terre-vention’.

Presented by SLQ's Asia Pacific Design Library in partnership with the UQ School of Architecture, the 2018 program highlights clever small to large-scale interventions that have an impact beyond their immediate site.

The eight-part series begins on Tuesday 13 March with renowned architect and academic Kelly Shannon (USA/Belgium), as part of the Asia Pacific Architecture Forum, and continues with a host of award-winning architects from New Zealand, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Hobart.

Bookings to attend the 2018 UQ Architecture lecture series open today with all presentations livestreamed via Facebook and the SLQ website.

Architecture professional can earn informal Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points for attending lectures or formal CPD points for writing an article in response to lectures for Design Online.  Learn more here.
