Food sustains and nourishes our bodies and our souls, reminding us of people, places and events. Recipes and meals feature in stories and memories, shaping our cultural heritage, marking our identity and fostering our sense of belonging. State Library of Queensland is hosting a very special meal to explore the connections between food, stories and belonging on Friday April 22.
You are invited to come and hear the stories behind the recipes as you dine at A Taste of Belonging. Join our host, popular chef and author Dominique Rizzo and hear first-hand how these recipes reflect the cultures, beliefs, and experiences of the individuals that inspired each dish. Chefs from Wandering Cooks and Alphabet Cafe will serve a delicious three course, sit-down dinner featuring an eclectic mix of cuisines including Sri Lankan, Iranian, Chinese and Venezuelan from recipes provided by community members from Mercy Community Services' Romero Centre.
Limited tickets are now available for this unique meal. Don't miss your opportunity to experience the taste of belonging.
