A scan of Facebook in the past few weeks reveals a new Storytime for Banana Shire's Theodore Library, mindfulness sessions in the Lockyer Valley, beginner robotics classes for adults at Atherton Library, technology discovery for all ages at Mount Isa Library, and more computer lessons for Dalby residents in response to community need.

Gladstone Library recently held a Harry Potter night, Proserpine Library a floral art class for seniors and Cassowary Coast’s Wongaling Beach Library an exploration of the library at night for Book Week. After-school science fun has been on the program at Nanango Library and a kids’ sing-along has been delivered at Yeppoon Library.

Local outcomes are evident at Flinders Shire Public Library where you’ll find a new cubby house, at Excelsior Library in Charters Towers where you’ll find a new reading corner, and at Gordon White Library in Mackay where you’ll find Chatterplay sessions for multiple birth families. Upcoming events include an adult spelling bee at Gracemere Library and a festival of all things pop culture at Toowoomba Library.

Sharing their stories and achievements are Fraser Coast Libraries celebrating 40 years in Hervey Bay, CityLibraries Townsville sharing the favourite books of staff and Gympie Regional Libraries promoting the role of libraries to visitors during the Gympie Music Muster by dressing trees in the main street. Cairns City Library has been transformed with a large scale projection as part of the City Lights program and Central Highlands Regional Council Libraries is spreading the word at the region’s annual Gemfest.

Dynamic programs and ideas are happening all of the time. Libraries and IKCs are demonstrating the objectives and enablers of Realising our potential: A vision for Queensland public libraries every day.
