Are public library standards and guidelines important to you? Do you think you can make a valuable contribution to the review of these planning and development tools?
Then consider nominating as a representative for the upcoming review of Queensland’s Standards and Guidelines

Between January and April 2018 State Library of Queensland will be reviewing three Queensland public library standards and guidelines – Technology, Library Buildings, and Staffing. We require representatives from Queensland public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres to join a review panel to assist with the revision of these documents.
The standards and guidelines are designed to assist Queensland public library staff and local governments in the planning and development of their library services. State Library coordinates the periodic review and development of the standards and guidelines.
Role of representatives
- Represent the interests of all public library services, regardless of size or service type, including IKCs, RLQ and Independent
- Bring an awareness of contemporary issues impacting on the nominated standard
- Contribute actively to the work of the group by reading and providing timely feedback on drafts, participating in discussions with fellow panel members, and seeking input from your teams and co-workers if required.
To submit your EOI please send your name and best contact details, the name of your Council, and indicate which standard you are most interested in by email to lgc@slq.qld.gov.au.
For more information please email lgc@slq.qld.gov.au or phone 3842 9353
Nominations for the Staffing standard group close COB 22 January 2018, with the Technology and Library Buildings groups closing COB 29 January 2018.
