New audio books in a range of formats

State Library recently received new audiobooks for loan to all Queensland public libraries. The varied range includes popular titles, award winners, non-fiction and junior titles as well as several formats.

Some popular adult fiction titles with multiple CDs in standard format include About a Boy by Nick Hornby, Razor Girl by Carl Hiaasen, Die Last by Tony Parsons, Kalinda by Evan Green, Hidden Hours by Sara Foster, and The Bourne Enigma by Eric Van Lustbader.

The collection also includes some award winning titles and authors such as Closing Down by Sally Abbot winner of the Richell Prize for Emerging Writers; Black Rock, White City by A. S. Patric, winner of the Miles Franklin; Good Money by J. M. Green shortlisted for The Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction; Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeleine Thien which was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2016.

Some popular Australian titles include Miles Off Course by Sulari Gentill, Hidden Hours by Sara Foster; Mackenzie Crossing by Kaye Dobbie in standard and MP3, Finding Hannah by Fiona McCallum and Happy Valley by Patrick White.

2. Good Money by J. M. Green. WaveSound*A good selection of new MP3 format audio books includes Finding Hannah by Fiona McCallum, Hornblower at the Atropos by C. S. Forester, and The Fix by David Baldacci.  Non-fiction MP3 titles include: Outback Cop by Neale McShane, The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson and The House On The Hill by Susan Duncan in MP3 and standard audio discs.

To order items library staff just need to complete the online form for audiobooks.

Library members can also choose Playaway which is the all-in-one audiobook which comes ready to listen to with its own player and battery, great for taking on a walk or to the gym!  Never Never by James Patterson, Three Sisters, Three Queens by Philippa Gregory, Southern Ruby by Belinda Alexandra, and Home by Harlan Coben are some Playaway titles.

Recently added titles for young readers include I Funny by James Patterson, Wed Wabbit by Lissa Evans, Heartland series titles Coming Home and After the Storm by Lauren Brooke and Bear Grylls Adventures vol. 1 by Bear Grylls.
