A message from the Australian Library of Art (ALA)

Welcome to the blog of the Australian Library of Art. Here we will share information about our collections, the James Hardie Library of Australian Fine Arts, a research collection devoted to the visual arts in Australia, the Lindsay Collection of Pat Corrigan related to the Lindsay family of Australian artists and writers, the History and Art of the Book Collection which contains specimens and reference works on all aspects of book and printing history and our Artists’ Book Collection including both Australian and international works.

We will let you know about new acquisitions, events, exhibitions and visitors and what our staff, Helen Cole,  Anne Scheu and Christene Drewe  have been doing.

We will also include contributions from guest writers, particularly on artists books in the collection and we look forward to you joining the conversation.

I am a book artist based in Mumbai, India. As India’s only book artist dedicated solely to this medium, I have published a number of books under the imprint ‘Pixie Bks’ during the last twenty-two years. Pixie Bks are in the Artists’ Book collections of The Brooklyn Museum; The School of the Art Institute of Chicago; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Newberry Library, Chicago; The Tate Gallery; The Victoria & Albert Museum; The British Library; Centre Pompidou; Bibliotheque Nationale de France; Bibliotheque Louis-Nucera, Nice...I would like to send you images and information about artists’ books that I have available, if you are interested. Best,Priya PereiraPixie Bks, India
