Did you know the Queensland Local Studies Group meets several times a year to discuss and share information about best practice and specific aspects relating to local studies collections in order to preserve Queensland’s documentary heritage?

The meetings are dispersed throughout the South East local government regions and encourage the Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) sector participation, networking and broad discussion. The host library arranges the agenda unique to its programs, planning, projects and partnerships.

The forum may also include a tour and guest speakers sharing unique local perspectives. The final meeting for 2017 was hosted by Moreton Bay Regional Council at the North Lakes Library.

You can access the minutes of past meetings undertaken by the Queensland Local Studies Group in your metropolitan area.

The first meeting in 2018 will be hosted and held at State Library of Queensland. The agenda will be distributed via the Local Studies list. Anyone working in a library with an interest in Local History and collections is welcome to join the list.
