Interviewing the vulnerable narrator - Panel Discussion

By administrator | 20 January 2017

Oral History Queensland (OHQ) invites you to learn more about the methodology and ethical concerns of interviewing people whose experiences of powerlessness, trauma, disaster or despair can often lead to emotional or psychological vulnerability.

Author and historian, Ann Monsour, will share her experience of working with National Library of Australia’s ‘Forgotten Australians and former child migrants Oral History project’.

Jo Besley, Curator at Coffs Harbour Museum and Art Gallery and former tutor in Museum Studies UQ, will draw on her curatorial experience in ‘Remembering Goodna: Stories from a Queensland Mental Hospital’.

Reflecting on 25 years since the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 was adopted in Queensland, anti-discrimination advocate Kevin Cocks will discuss his continuing fight for the rights of citizens.
