The Queensland Local Studies Group (QLSG) meets to share information on all aspects of local history, both old and new. The group acts as a medium in which to discuss matters relating to providing local studies services to members of the public.
Meetings are held several times a year and hosted by different public libraries on a volunteer basis. The host sets the agenda, which might include a tour of the library or nearby heritage location, guest speakers, white gloves experiences or collection show-and-tell, group discussion, or hands-on workshop.
Membership is free, and all Queensland public library staff are welcome to join.
Upcoming meetings:
- Fraser Coast Libraries at their John Anderson Library (Maryborough Library) on Wednesday 23 August. RSVP by calling (07) 41905781
- Moreton Bay Region Libraries at the North Lakes Library. October or November. Date to be confirmed.
