Free Bookmark - First 5 Forever celebrates children’s book week

CBCA Children’s Book Week 18-24 August

It’s not long now until the start of Children’s Book Week 2018. Each year across Australia, the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) brings children, families and books together celebrating CBCA Book Week.

This year’s theme is “Find your treasure”.  The First 5 Forever team are celebrating book week along with the treasure of shared reading. To help celebrate both book week and the importance of early literacy, we’re providing this bookmark, which has been developed for libraries and IKCs to print and share both during and after book week celebrations. Use the bookmark to place in all of your children’s collection items or the books borrowed during book week; hand it out at rhyme time or story time or use it as a conversation starter when talking to families. It’s also great to take to outreach events or hand to adults to use in their novels as a quick reminder about First 5 Forever messages. Children’s Book Week is a great time for libraries to celebrate and promote their role in sharing the importance of books for children and their families. The Book of the Year will be announced on 17 August, 2018.
