Current Research Fellow Doug Spowart has been surveying the Australian Library of Art artists’ book collection as well as selected works in the reference library seeking out works that include photography. He aims “to create an approach to the development of a flexible and dynamic nomenclature or terminology for the photo and the book”.

Jan Davis, the current Creative Siganto Fellow focused on diaries and farm records in the John Oxley Library as inspiration for her artist’s book ‘One thing becomes another’. The hand written records provided significant inspiration for Jan who acquired a set of ‘dip-pen nibs’ and taught herself to use them!

The Knowledge walk at SLQ will be the location for the Artists’ Book Fair Sunday 21st June. Tours of selected artists’ books from the Australian Library of Art collection will also be offered Sunday throughout the day.
