Could live zombie battles be your next library event?

By Administrator | 16 February 2017

New South Wales’ Parkes Shire Library featured on the ABC with a wild, low-cost zombie battle for 100 country kids and teens. This event was the culmination of a series of annual workshops with Matt Finch, who is currently SLQ’s Creative in Residence.

Other zombie events included a smaller scale NSW siege and a New Zealand library event in which police officers joined forces with teen survivors. A column in Reference and User Services Quarterly (PDF download) tells you more about the original NSW event, and its benefit for a rural public library service; and you can also hear Matt talk zombies with ABC Capricornia’s Chrissy Arthur.

Rockhampton Regional Library also delivered their own zombpocalyptic Fun Palace last year – this article is well worth checking out.
