After an overwhelming number of submissions for the book Growing Up Aboriginal in Australia, published in 2018 by Black Inc and edited by Dr. Anita Heiss (Library Board of Queensland), a new collection of stories will be available online via BlackWords.

Submissions are being sought from people of all ages who have a story to share about Growing Up Indigenous in Australia. Stories should be non-fictional pieces in any style of voice including poetry and be between 800-1500 words in length.

This is a great opportunity to encourage members of your community to share their original stories and perspectives. Your library could host writing, editing, poetry, or storytelling workshops to enable and support submissions from people of all ages.

Submissions are due by 8 July 2019 for publication in November 2019.
