Next step for a start-up

In this session David discussed some crucial steps for a start-up: identifying a problem, business structuring, pitching, creating a product, looking at the positive influence you can make through partnerships, funding and profile.

David Smith is the CEO of Ceres Tag Pty Ltd developing a smart ear tag for livestock. Ceres Tag will have a big impact on the future of the livestock industry and for the next generation of graziers. David is a materials’ engineer, and fellow of Australian Institute of Company Directors.

After 25 years in infrastructure and energy projects around the world, David returned to agriculture identifying improvement opportunities to solve current challenges and create opportunities for the future using technology and data.
