There are five bursaries for individuals/organisations from across Queensland to attend the Indigenous Soldiers Forum and Workshop on Friday 22 June 2018 at State Library of Queensland in Brisbane.

As part of the Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation, State Library is continuing to discover and confirm Queensland Indigenous Soldiers of the First World War.

This forum will showcase research in Australia’s,and particularly Queensland’s, Indigenous service personnel. The event will also connect descendants and extended families of Indigenous servicemen of the First World War with further information about their ancestors and the context of their service.

It is a wonderful opportunity to hear insights from renowned historian, blogger and researcher Philippa Scarlett and Australian War Memorial’s Indigenous Liaison Officer, Michael Bell. The afternoon workshop session will be a practical hands-on exercise limited to 30 participants —How to research Indigenous Soldiers: Where to start and what to do.

To apply for one of the bursaries please download the application here.
