AUSTRALIAN WOMEN ENCOURAGED TO UPSKILL IN PREPARATION FOR NEW TECHNOLOGICAL REVOLUTION

AUSTRALIAN women are encouraged to upskill in data and technology in preparation for a future dominated by the technology industry.

Global not-for-profit organisation, She Loves Data, is the founder of a worldwide movement to help Australian women upskill in data and technology regardless of their career background.

She Loves Data CEO and co-founder, Jana Marle-Zizkova, said a new technological revolution had begun and we need to be ready for it.

“It’s no secret that we live in a totally data-driven world. There is a shortage of data analytics and data scientists, and by building up the community, we hope to bridge this shortage by getting more women interested in data,” she said.

“I have spent more than 20 years in the tech industry, and in every city I’ve visited, I have never seen enough women in development, analytics, data science or middle-management tech teams – and even less in top level tech and data management.

“With the future we are facing, I believe all Australian women should consider upskilling to some extent in data and tech – whether it’s developing a side skill or moving into a focused tech role” Read more
