Try searching the State Library of Queensland's catalogue One Search for information about Australian South Sea Islanders. By doing a basic search, more than 2000 records come up immediately. These records include SLQ Collections, Online Resources and Peer-reviewed journals.

Just remember that you will need a library card to access the journals and ebooks. It is quick and easy to apply for a membership card if you don’t have one.

A great way to narrow your search is to look for Australian South Sea Islander images by selecting "Digital Resources" in the drop down menu in One Search, and then narrow the search further under “Refine your search” to images. Here you will be able to peruse our collection of Australian South Sea Islander images by subject, time period and geographic areas just to name a few.

The State Library of Queensland is currently digitising more Australian South Sea Islander images and collection materials for the upcoming commemorations that will take place in Queensland in August 2013. Watch this space for content as it becomes available.
