AMES - Online ESL Resource

By Theresa Moore | 21 February 2023

State Library of Queensland now provides statewide access to the AMES Online English resource. AMES is on-demand English language courses focusing on living, studying, and working in Australia for students and new migrants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD). State Library currently provides access to two modules: Worldwide English and Living in Australia. These are General English courses ranging from beginner to intermediate.

AMES supports English language reading and writing within a library environment and would complement English language training provided by your local council or library service. A significant number of courses develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills using practical scenarios within an Australian context.

This resource offers currency of information delivered as an app or web browser with Google translate imbedded in the product for ease of use.

To get started, please use your State Library membership to login to AMES.
